Although most airlines no longer require a physician's note for travel, they do recommend that pregnant women contact their physician for travel advice. If extensive immunizations or prophylactic medications (eg, antimalarial drugs) are recommended, travel should be avoided. During the flight, pregnant passengers should walk around the cabin at least every 2 hours to help prevent deep venous thrombosis.
