Hurricane Audrey memories (The Lafayette Daily Advertiser)

I rode out the hurricane in the attic of our home in Cameron. My father was an associate county agent there. I was almost 2 years old, and my mother was eight months pregnant. Fortunately, I don't recall the horror firsthand. I have heard the stories many times and know the names of folks who died and those who survived.
